In a reflection of our commitment to offer the highest standards in all that we deliver, we’re proud to announce that Carey Group company, Seneca Resource Recovery, has successfully completed a series of rigorous International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) audits. These are in the ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety management categories.

The results of these audits demonstrate our consistent ability to superbly deliver best practice in our business processes and in the services we provide.

ISO 9001 for Quality Management

ISO 9001 highlights standards for quality management systems across all industries. It is used – in over one million organisations in 170 countries around the world – to assess a company’s quality management capabilities. It is based on a set of principles, which include:

  • The motivation and implication of top management
  • Robust customer focus
  • Process approach
  • Continual improvement

In order to earn ISO 9001 certification, a business must exhibit a high level of efficiency, effective performance, strong customer satisfaction, substantial staff motivation and continual improvement.

One example of how Seneca lives up to ISO 9001’s criteria can be found in our adoption of paperless invoicing, which has minimised paperwork, streamlined our billing system, improved client communication and contributed to a more sustainable environment.

ISO 14001 for Environmental Management

ISO 14001 provides specific guidelines that companies can follow, in order to establish and maintain an effective environmental management system. These requirements are designed to help organisations put in place needed environmental policies and objectives, which take into account the relevant legal regulations and local requirements that are in effect in their particular regions.

The measures prescribed by ISO 14001 offer environmentally conscious businesses, a clear path to control or curtail any activities which might have the potential to adversely affect their surroundings, the ecology or sustainability.

OHSAS 18001 for Occupational Health and Safety management

OHSAS 18001 is an internationally recognised British standard for occupational health and safety management. Its aim is to help businesses put in place systems that provide healthier and safer working conditions for their employees. Specifically, this standard enables organisations to manage risk and helps ensure compliance with legislation.

At Seneca, we pride ourselves on our stellar health and safety record, which we achieve through constant vigilance and the implementation of strict rules and procedures intended to create and sustain the safest and most orderly working conditions possible. The effectiveness of our efforts can be seen in the successful results of this audit.
