Last year, we launched a Group-wide campaign to use environmentally friendly and effective tools on-site, rather than ones powered by petrol. This initiative reflects our commitment to continually deliver the highest standards in all that we do.

This year, we are taking it one step further by partnering with Speedy Tool Hire to deliver a series of roadshows across our sites in the UK to promote the latest eco-friendly, innovative products. We will be explaining how using these more sustainable tools benefits the environment and improves safety for both our site-based teams and the general public.

Our first roadshow took place on Monday 9th of March at our St John’s site in Manchester. At this event, our site team had the opportunity to take a close look at the latest products from suppliers, including Wacker Neuson, Makita and Pop Up. They learned how these tools help us meet our sustainability goals by:

• Reducing environmental impact

• Expanding recycling and waste-reduction capacity

• Improving water and air quality

• Providing transport efficiencies

• Enhancing logistics

• Improving energy efficiency

At the opening of this first Innovation Day roadshow, Gary Condon, Managing Director of Careys Plant & Fleet, commented:

Our mission is to continually drive awareness and improve our handling of sustainability considerations across our projects and the communities we work in and around.

By providing and championing the use of alternative, eco-friendly plant, tools and fleet to our site-based colleagues, we are actively replacing equipment on site with a more sustainable alternative, reducing its ecological impact and improving the environment for the local community and our site teams.
