The Carey Group has seen huge growth over the last five years. Since I came on board in 2013 we have expanded from 500 employees to just under 1400. We have enabled the business to achieve this growth by creating our own internal recruiters and ensuring we have the HR / L&D knowledge, skills, expertise and personal drive in the department to support the business with all its people requirements.
One of my proudest projects has been the flexible benefits portal that we call ‘Flexi-care’ that we offer our employees. This enables our employees to tailor a bespoke suite of benefits, choosing anything from adjusting their level of pension contribution to childcare vouchers and holiday trading. This has ensured that our benefits offerings meet our employment requirements wherever they are in their career and life journey.
Definitely keeping up with the phenomenal growth experienced by the Group as a whole. The companies in the Group have such diverse requirements and finding the skills we need, with the right ethos and then retaining the talent we have is important to our business. We are a very proud and dedicated team who work well together and support each other where needed - I think that and the team’s personal drive for excellence has been the key to keeping up with such an exciting and fast-paced business.
Behavioural Science is all about creating the right environment to enable all employees, at whatever level, to be as effective as possible in their roles. Behavioural Science is one aspect to help us understand the drivers and motivations as well as the behaviours of individuals. Within the Learning and Development function we complement the learning with other people development programmes seen as best practice in the field of people development. As a result, people that go through Behavioural Science and our people development programmes are generally more considered in their actions, make better use of data to make decisions and are more able to understand the drivers and motivation behind great teamwork.
We have seen such amazing growth here which I have been proud to be apart of. We are delivering really amazing projects and working with inspirational people. Without a doubt, the Group is going to continue to grow and as it does we will keep up-to-date with initiatives to ensure we get better every day. We are investing a lot in our people development strategy which is going to continue to improve the way we develop our teams both on site and in the offices for now and for the future success of the business.
