At Careys our employees make our business better every day, throughout our teams we see talented and inspirational individuals thrive in their specialisms, taking on challenging and stimulating projects. We spoke with Rebecca, our External Marketing Executive about her career, development and proudest moments since she joined Careys 2 years ago.
Background and education:
I joined the Marketing and Communications team at Careys in 2016 as Marketing and Communications Graduate after completing my bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing. My role ranged from internal communications, maintaining and updating our Group wide intranet, CareysConnect, supporting with the delivery of our quarterly newsletter, CareyNews and facilitating the refresh of Careys Foundation, the registered charity of the Carey Group. I also took on a wide variety of external marketing activities, supporting with the delivery of video content through planning and filming and representing the Group at industry events with our exhibition stands.
Role and projects:
My role now is comprised of everything relating to external marketing. Ranging from updating our Group website, scheduling and creating content for our digital marketing platforms to co-ordinating activities and a range of print materials for our external events, including recruitment and industry conferences.
Since I joined Careys I’ve been involved in a range of fantastic projects including the launch of our updated intranet, CareysConnect, delivering our new external website and supporting the introduction of our Group wide volunteering initiative through Careys Foundation.
I can describe the culture that we have here at Careys in one word, fulfilling! I’m able to challenge the status quo, identifying new and better ways to ensure we become our absolute best.
What I most enjoy:
The endless scope and continuous evolution of marketing principles and techniques are what I really enjoy about working in marketing. I love taking on various projects and seeing them through from start to completion, whilst presenting the unique elements and capabilities of the Group through our digital and external platforms. To date, my proudest achievements have been the launch of our new Group website and digital communications through our structured content calendar.
Support and career development:
I’ve had great support since I joined Careys to further develop my skills and career. I recently completed my level 6 qualification with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) which has taught me about new and emerging marketing tactics and trends to apply in my role. I was also recently promoted to my current position as External Marketing Executive after being recognised for my development since joining the Group.
I can describe the culture that we have here at Careys in one word, fulfilling! I’m able to challenge the status quo, identifying new and better ways to ensure we become our absolute best. My opinions really are valued and it’s fulfilling to know that I’m being recognised for my efforts and contribution.
