After the success of Careys Foundation’s first black tie charity boxing event in 2016, the Foundation hosted another memorable evening packed with even more entertainment and charitable donations.
On Friday 13th October 2017, over 300 suppliers, clients and Careys employees attended the event to watch members of London Boxing and Limerick Select take to the boxing ring in an England v Ireland battle.
The night began with a welcome speech from the Group’s Chief Operating Officer, followed by a video created specifically for the event, highlighting the involvement and impact of the Careys Foundation in local communities. Nine exhilarating bouts were fought, the results of which were very close; going into the final bout it was four wins all. Limerick Boxing put forward a strong contender for the final bout but London Boxing took the victory with just a few points in it and were declared the champions.
A silent auction ran throughout the evening with a number of exciting lots up for grabs including tickets to see Ed Sheeran at Wembley, a family vacation to Dubai and football tickets for Arsenal v Liverpool. After dinner there was a live auction of four impressive prizes, raising over £10,000 alone.
It was a fantastic evening, raising over £45,000 for Careys Foundation. Group founders John, Tom and Pat Carey kindly pledged to match the donations, bringing the total to £90,000 helping to continue and further the charitable efforts delivered by Careys Foundation.
