Careys Civil Engineering has been awarded the prestigious BIM Level 2 accreditation by the British Standards Institution (BSI). This certification acknowledges our ability to successfully use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to deliver – in our capacity as principal contractor or sub-contractor – a wide range of civil engineering and design and build projects, across commercial, residential and public sectors.
A notable achievement
A BIM Level 2 designation recognises that we have a high-level of knowledge and proficiency when it comes to designing and carrying out projects using the latest BIM techniques. It also demonstrates that we consistently apply best practices as we consolidate all project and asset information, as well as documentation and data, into the design and construction phases of our projects.
In addition, this accreditation offers tangible proof to potential clients and supply chain partners that we have attained and demonstrated a standard of BIM practice that meets even the most stringent requirements. This is particularly important when it comes to working on large-scale public sector projects, which since 2016 require BIM Level 2 compliance.
Careys’ impressive BIM knowledge and expertise
Since 2010, we have used 3D modelling on all of our major projects. We first took on a BIM Level 2 project at Chiswick Park, Building 7 in 2012. Since then we’ve gone on to successfully complete numerous BIM projects giving us a wealth of experience in this specialist area.
Our models help us to gain an in-depth understanding of complex projects and minimise potential risks. They enable us to visualise plan and construction details with great precision, which in turn allows us to examine potential contingencies for certain sets of circumstances and conditions.
