Paul joined BDL Dry Lining in 1989 and during a 29 year career has progressed through the surveying ranks from Trainee Surveyor to Regional Manager in 1999 to his current position of Commercial Director in 2004. As Commercial Director for the Residential team, Paul is responsible for all the commercial functions from initial estimating and tendering through to final accounts.

We have a real team ethos in BDL based on honesty, respect and integrity which has enabled us to retain, develop and advance our people who are loyal, experienced and committed to the cause. We expect high standards and take pride in what we do and we care about what we deliver.  I try to influence this by showing my commitment to the team and supporting them to achieve this.

We are proactive with our customers, with our positive 'can do' attitude.  We focus on building and maintaining long standing relationships which leads to significant levels of repeat business. We always try to deal with customers through positive dialogue rather than in a contractual / adversarial manner.  On site it is about building it right first time, on time and of course, safely.

Both BDL and the house builders are coming under rising cost pressures as labour and material prices increase but house prices are levelling out so budgets are under additional scrutiny and pressure.

The demand for housing is still strong so the volume of work is out there but there are many established dry lining contractors and a lot of new smaller companies have emerged which is making the marketplace very competitive. We are therefore totally focused on remaining competitive whilst still providing the highest levels of quality and service.
