Kensington High Street

Project Overview

Scudder were appointed by St Edwards Homes to demolish 375 Kensington High Street (Charles House). The former Inland Revenue offices stood at 10 storey high, plus basements, with a footprint of 12,000m2. The building consisted of a central spine block with six wings extending out at right-angles and occupied a large site area fronting onto Kensington High Street. A mainline railway line ran along the western boundary, which necessitated close liaison with National Rail in respect to work procedure and programming of the works in that proximity.
